Traditional Chai (tea)

1 cup water, 2 slivers of fresh ginger, 1 tea bag , 1/4 tsp Chai Masala, 1 1/2 cups of milk and sugar to taste. In a pan heat water with tea bag, ginger and Chai masala on medium heat. Allow mixture to come to a boil then add milk. Bring chai to a boil.  Remove from heat. Add sugar to taste.

 

Ice Chai

1 cup water, 2 slices of fresh ginger, 1 tea bag, 1/4 tsp Chai Masala, slice of lemon, sugar to taste. Heat water in a pot with tea bag, ginger and Chai Masala on medium heat. Allow mixture to come to a boil. Add sugar, then cool in the refrigerator. In a class add ice cubes, chai mixture and a slice of lemon.

 

Chai Latte

1 cup of milk or steamed milk, pinch of chai masala, pinch of cinnamon powder and sugar to taste. Heat milk with Chai Masala, Bring to a boil. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar to taste. (also great with vanilla flavoured steamed milk).

 

Instant Cup of Chai

1 pinch Chai Masala, thin slice of fresh ginger, 1 tea bag (optional), milk and sugar to taste. In a cup add tea bag, Chai Masala, and ginger. Add boiling water and allow tea to steep. Remove tea bag and add milk or cream and sugar to taste.
